Young Group photos from the year:
2007  |  2006  |  2005  |  2004  |  2003  |  2002  |  2001 and older

On a beautiful afternoon, a group of guys played some nice tennis matches at Glen Oak Park. One of the matches was played by Adam Geyer and Andy Slotter taking on Steve Hodel and Jimmy Huber. Steve reacts as the ball lands in after an well-placed volley by Adam as Jimmy watches the action from the back. Jimmy tries his best to get the return inbounds. Andy and Steve guard the lines and net as a point is played out. Showing great follow-through, Steve fires a shot back to the opposite side. Adam follows through during a serve. Notice the horrible foot-fault being committed.

Putting on a free clinic, Adam shows how a serve is supposed to look. Steve lets a fuzz-sandwich fly down the line as he attacks the net. Andy nails a forehand winner to the opposite court as Jimmy stands ready to return it. A step-by-step analysis of Andy's serve shows the flaws (if any) in his methods. Steve and Jesse Hoerr chat at the net after the match. (Probably about where to eat dinner afterwards) Adam serves as Luke Wirtz looks on. Coach "Polyester Pete" Sanfilip would be proud.

A step-by-step analysis of Jesse Hoerr's serve.  Steve ducks as an overhead smash from Andy's racquet rapidly aproaches his head.

The first-ever AstroJam 2001 took place on October 12, 2001 at the Hoerr's Murphy Farm. Members of the original cast of AstroJam 2001 are (l-r): Jesse Hoerr, Adam Geyer, Andy Slotter, Josh Hoerr, Benj Hodel, Eddie Meister (founder of AstroJam), Steve Hodel. AstroJam 2001 attendees Steve, Eddie, Jesse, Andy (with bunny ears, hehe), Adam and Josh. Yet another picture taken at AstroJam 2001. (l-r) Jesse, Adam, Benj, Andy, Josh, Eddie & Steve. Josh Hoerr pauses to reflect on the AstroJam evening as he gazes into the fire. Yikes! Andy tries to startle the other AstroJam attendees. Adam, Andy, Eddie, Jesse and Steve converse around the AstroJam fire.

The guys of AstroJam make large shadows on the side of the barn. (l-r: Steve, Andy, Josh, Adam, Jesse and Eddie) In an effort to get on the cover of "America's Barns & Bails of Straw" magazine are: Eddie, Jesse, Josh, Adam, Andy, Benj and Steve (l-r). After "America's Barns & Bails of Straw" magazine turned the guys down for the cover shot, they decided to try for the cover of "Stairways of the Heartland." This is what happens when people move while a picture is being taken. A see-though Adam and his see-through twin scare Steve.

Molly Molly Meister, Carissa Klopfenstein and Jessi Maurer pretend to be working. Jessi Maurer, Kristin Meister, Molly Molly Meister and Carissa Klopfenstein pose for a picture outside a popular eating establishment, Chili's. Rhoda Sceggel and Karin Meister also pose for a picture outside a popular eating establishment, Chili's. In an effort to use the remaining few pictures on the roll of film, Adam Geyer sits between Kristin Meister and Molly Molly Meister on Molly Molly's porch. Kristin Meister, Holly Stickling and Molly Molly Meister pose next to the Cessna 172 aircraft which they flew down south. This tail number is N61972, pronounced 'November Six One Niner Seven Two'. Kristin Meister, Molly Molly Meister and Bethany Kummer oooh and ahhh over de baby.

'Look Ma, I'm using a telephone! Quick - take a picture of me using a telephone!' While playing with Molly Molly's camera on the Young Group trip, Carissa Klopfenstein opens the back, thus exposing the film and creating this wonderful photo. What marvelous photography skills. Karin Meister, Molly Molly Meister, Katie Suader, Carissa Klopfenstein, Joanna Kummer, Elizabeth Rieker and Bethany Kummer pose for a picture on the Young Group trip. Ooooooooooooook. Steve Hodel gives an embarassed look as Nick Hoerr carries on his crazy antics at a recent YG gathering. (Nice smile, Steve) Jessi Maurer and Kary Hoerr enjoy a laugh as Nick Hoerr tries to conquer the art of crocheting on a YG trip to Lattie, OH. For all us dumb guys out there, knitting uses two stick-thingys while crocheting uses two (I think). Steve Hodel fights vigorously to be the first one to slap the seven as other Uno players try to do the same. As you can tell by the painful expression on Steve's face, Uno is a fierce game which should only be played by ruthless people who will stop at nothing to emerge victorious. Note to would-be Uno players: do a little better job than Adam is to hide your cards. When you win as frequently as Adam does, it becomes imparitive that others cannot see what cards you have remaining. As the Uno game comes to end, all are friends again and any cheating which occured is forgiven. Oh wait, Patty wasn't playing this time. Lane Gerber: TPG. TPG enjoys what we must assume to be soda with his friend. While thought to be theoretically impossible, the existence of TPG was discovered during a recent trip to Bluffton, IN.

Aren't close-ups fun? Here we see Jessi Maurer and Rachel Schmidgall in great detail. This particular picture was hand-picked and requested by Rachel herself. Kristin Meister chills out with Katie Sauder. Fun times. Jolyne Scholl sits on the lap of Kristin Meister. Please note: you will never find a picture of a guy sitting on the lap of another guy - that stuff just never happens. At least The Perfect Guy would never do something like that. This is Molly Meister's favorite picture of herself. Hehe, just kidding - she hates it. But really - it's not a bad picture of either ladies. I think Molly and Jessi have a thing about hugging - they can't stop. Rachel Schmidgall and Carissa Klopfenstein jam to 91.5 WCIC, their favorite station. Awww yeah, GP are you with me?

Jay 'Crash' Geyer laughs as he recalls the smashing good time he had at Wes Plymate's Bible Study. Crash Geyer loves coming to his cousin's house. Here he sits between Patty Triplett and Rachel Schmidgall. Quite possibly the stupidest and worst set-up picture ever taken (no offense Jessi). Featuring Jason Getz and Will Kellenberger. Huh? What? Were you talking to me? (Caption provided by Jessi Maurer) Nick Hoerr shows off his strength by holding the doorway up with his arms. Wow - what upper body strength! A bunch of wild and crazy guys play a friendly game of Uno at Steve Hodel's. Pictured are Katie Sauder, Molly Meister, Rachel Schmidgall, Nick Hoerr, Steve Hodel, Jesse Hoerr, and Patty Triplett.

Adam and Crash Geyer use their God-given talent of being able to play a musical instrument to bring joy to a small gathering as they play Christmas carols. Adam Geyer and Josh Hoerr take a break from hard, gruelling, exhausting work at the choir's Benefit Dinner. Ouch! Carly Hoerr, Mike Kaisner, and Jason Getz play a game of Twister while Will Kellenberger watches. Adam Geyer makes a bead necklace with Zoe Waibel. That was the

Lindsay Unsicker makes a friend in Ellie Waibel as she gives a wild horse ride! Brandon Plattner and Molly Meister play a thrilling board game with the young'uns. Andy Hoerr, Jason Getz, and Dusty Plattner bus tables at a recent wedding. Cousins Rosie Waibel and Jesse Getz smile for the camera at Andrew & Rachel's wedding reception. The older guys let the younger guys fight over the garder belt to see which lucky guy will be the next to tie the knot. Aint that cute?!? Tom Hoerr falls asleep on Nathan Herman's shoulder on a loooooong bus ride.

Phil Sceggel and Tara Meister appear to be overcome with joy and excitement on another bus ride. Dave and Michelle Kellenberger with their wedding party - except one. Can you guess which wedding party member is missing from the picture? The Meister Family Singers wow the crowd at Dave and Michelle's reception with their rendition of a Metallica song. Just kidding. Michelle's bridesmaides pose for a picture at the reception. A group of people gather at Ruby Tuesday's as a farewell dinner for Jolyne Scholl. You want names? Ok - (l-r) Mindy Hoerr, Mike Kaisner, Patty Triplett, Jesse Hoerr, Josh Hoerr, Tina Coburn, Jolyne Scholl, Adam Geyer, Steve Hodel and Nick Hoerr. For some reason, Brianne Hoerr, Patty Triplett, and Jolyne Scholl enjoy a laugh after accepting a pig trophy.

Rachel Waibel and Jenny Honegger take a break on the slopes. Penny Geyer, Kari Meister, Joey Hoerr, Chad Herman, Kenny Ober, Rachel Waibel, and Michelle Herman chow down on some bagels. Yum! Tara and Molly Meister admire the St. Louis Arch. (Pssst - hey - the arch is behind you!) Cousins Tara Meister, Adam Geyer and Molly Meister walk to the St. Louis Arch. Jesse Getz and Adam Geyer take a break before the Bible Class' play at the Sunday School Christmas pizza party. Adam Geyer appears to have a growth growing on his shoulder. Oh, wait! That's Tara Meister.

A group of guys and three girls enjoy a nice dinner. A large gathering of Young Groupers show off their painting skills (yeah right!) at the South Side Mission. We transformed an old VFW Hall into a nice new facility for the Mission. A large group of Young Groupers pose for the camera in the parking lot of a mall on the way back from a weekend in Leo, IN. Dave Sceggel, Doug Brewer, and Benji Hodel play a game of Trivial Pursuit down south at the annual Alabama/Tennessee singing. Adam Geyer and Tim Hodel pose next to the plane they flew as part of a summer course at ICC. Andrew Honegger and Brandon Plattner turn around for the camera during a drive in the car. My question is, 'What's was the spedometer at while this picture was being taken?'
